The Coach

Coach Adrian Williams, is an internationally competitive 400m and 200m sprinter. Adrian had a lifetime of broad sport experience and started competitive sprinting in his late 40s.

The last decade has been spent regularly lining up against competitors 30-40 years than himself in the 400m. These NSW athletic events have been combined with annual Masters Athletics events at a State, National and International level. An insight into his training and competing journey can be seen on his Instagram @faster_at_55

In terms of performance, Adrian’s times have improved each year through his 50’s.

Adrian brings to his coaching the experience and learnings from a 40 year corporate career at the highest level of executive and board positions in major Australian and global corporations. Adrian also has a long history of community contribution to the art world of Sydney and also in providing support for Indigenous Australians pursuing careers in finance and this work is continuing alongside his coaching.

The combined insight from Adrian’s highly successful and broad career base, long standing community work and Masters Athletics journey are significant contributors to all of the programs delivered by Faster for Life.

Where do we start?

Where do we go?

By building your understanding of what’s required to move well and be fast

By learning foundational skills, drills and movements

Through assessment and refinement of strengths and weaknesses

10 sessions either twice a week over 5 weeks or weekly over 10 weeks

The total cost of this phase is only $100

Where we go is down to you

For some, understanding the core building blocks of speed is enough

For others, mapping out a program that is the basis of a major training change is required

On occasions the next step may be a small but significant alteration to your current approach to speed training

For others ongoing support in their speed training or athletic journey is required

Why is Faster for Life Different?

My journey to coaching has been a long and different winding path.

I come with 50 plus years of experience across a range of sports … as a player, coach, manager, referee, trainer, official, administrator, parent and fan. In my working life I have been at the highest level of major global corporations and led teams and people through incredible change and challenge. These experiences have involved setbacks and successes and everything in between …. on every occasion the next step has been a positive one.

Alongside sport and corporate life, I have consistently worked in community as a volunteer, creator of social initiatives, as a Board director and a leader of groups making change.

I have spent the last decade in a high performance training regime that has seen my sprinting times improve (400m, 200m, 100m) year on year through my 50’s … there are only a very small number of people in the world that come with similar experience. I intend to carry that through into my 60’s.

I bring all of these experiences to every conversation but my starting point is always you; What do you need? What are your challenges? Where are your habits taking you?
